Regattas and major sailing events in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez
In the gulf, sailing is not just harbour scenery. It shapes part of the calendar, from club regattas to major gatherings visible across the whole bay. Wind, courses and race times give these days a less predictable rhythm than a concert or a market.

A season shaped by regattas
Each year, the nautical calendar gathers regattas and events on the water. Some races mainly concern crews, while others become visible to visitors because they occupy the harbour, quays and bay. The scene depends on wind, light and the chosen viewpoint.
Giraglia, a June marker
Giraglia is one of the major June events. The race was imagined in 1952, with a first start in 1953, and now gathers boats from several nationalities. For visitors, the interest lies as much in the crews present around the harbour as in the movement of boats before the start.
Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez in autumn
Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez often close the high season with a strong image: classic yachts, modern boats and large yachts on the same stretch of water. Organised since 1999 by the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez, Les Voiles brings classic and modern boats together. It takes place in late September and early October, with exact dates to check every year.
Where to watch without getting in the way
The port of Saint-Tropez naturally draws visitors, but the clearest moments are not always closest to the pontoons. Starts, returns, passages near the moles and certain coastal viewpoints can offer a better reading. Keep to reserved areas, traffic instructions and official times.
Connect sailing with the rest of the calendar
Regattas sit between spring traditions, markets and major autumn gatherings.
